Green Card Through Investment
The EB-5, Green Card through investment, was created to promote investments in businesses and to create and preserve jobs in the U.S. You can become a lawful permanent resident by establishing a new commercial enterprise and provide full-time employment to at least ten U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, or other immigrants with employment authorization.

Creating a New Commercial Enterprise
You may create a new commercial enterprise by:
1. Creating an original business
2. Purchasing an existing business and simultaneously or subsequently restructuring or reorganizing the business such that a new commercial enterprise results
3. Expanding an existing business by 140 per cent of the
pre-investment number of jobs or net worth, or retaining all
existing jobs in a troubled business that has lost 20 per cent of
its net worth over the past 12 to 24 months.
Investing in a New Commercial Enterprise
You must have invested or be actively in the process of investing at least $1,000,000 in the new commercial enterprise, unless the investment is to be made in a targeted employment area, in which case the investment must be at least $500,000
Benefit the U.S. Economy and Create Jobs
Your engagement in a new commercial enterprise must benefit the U.S. economy and:
1. Create full-time employment for not fewer than ten qualified individuals, or
2. Maintain the number of existing employees at no less than the pre-investment level for a period of at least two years, where the capital investment is being made in a "troubled business," which is a business that has been in existence for at least two years and that has lost 20 per cent of its net worth over the past 12 to 24 months
Entrepreneurs (and their spouses and unmarried children under
21) who make an investment in a commercial enterprise in the
United States and who plan to create or preserve ten permanent
full time jobs for qualified United States workers, are eligible
to apply for a green card (permanent residence).
Up to 10,000 visas may be authorized each fiscal year for
eligible entrepreneurs.

With little congestion and short lines, Santa Teresa, via its sister port Jeronimo is the premier driving route to southern Cd. Juarez, Cd. Chihuahua, and further into the interior of Mexico. Mexican travelers increasingly discover this port provides convenient and rapid access to New Mexico and the western United States. Growth of imports at the Santa Teresa point of entry has been staggering; " In January 2009, $48 million worth of goods crossed into the U.S. at the Santa Teresa crossing. In January 2010 that jumped to $698 million in goods. (source: El Paso Regional Economic Development Corporation) Hundreds of thousands of cattle cross each year making the port host to the largest livestock import/export facility on the Mexican border.
The Santa Teresa Port of Entry is located approximately 111 miles south of Truth or Consequences. The route is easy; take I-25 south to I-10 then take Exit 8, and proceed westward on Artcraft Road. Crossing back into New Mexico from Texas the road becomes the Pete Domenici Highway and continues on 12 miles to the Santa Teresa Port of Entry.
In addition, Customs and Border Protection officers from Santa Teresa process international aircraft operations at the nearby county airport and oversee the Doña Ana County Foreign Trade Zone at the Santa Teresa Industrial Park.
For commercial traffic the hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm, Saturday 9am - 2pm; non commercial and pedestrian hours are daily 6am till midnight.
Traveling to the United States
In Mexico, the port is easily accessed from Mexican Highway 2
extending westward from Cd. Juarez. Travelers from the interior of
Mexico may reach Santa Teresa from Mexican Highway 45 using the new
toll road that extends from Samalayuca towards the Santa Teresa Port
